You might be wondering what PTP means. We're not sure, but we may have coined a new acronym. It means Paid To Promote!

I too have to agree MouseEars, because I did not realize before starting to use LinkBucks the negative aspects of using their linking system. If such service is to be recommanded from here on by Wirespeed it would be better to first give directions to those that utilize their service as to how to use their linking properly....

We plan to post another article that explains some of the negative aspects of using Linkbucks, as well as demonstrate the proper way to use the Linkbucks service. It is our understanding that Linkbucks.com was designed to be a link sharing advertising network, for links that would be propagated through social networking sites like bookmarking websites and other social sites such as blogs, forums, twitter, facebook and so on. Linkbucks was not designed for PTC sites, which would mean users who directly advertise Linkbucks links on PTC websites are miss using both services. This is something that we won't encourage. We encourage our users to advertise their Free Referral pages that have Linkbucks links on them. This way we don't violate the functionality of the PTC service. Pornography is another matter. Unfortunately, for those of us who are offended by it realize that it isn't going anywhere any time soon! We have even seen near pornographic ads on PTC sites that weren't using the Linkbucks service. Even Google, Yahoo and MSN serve porn when it is asked for. As for what Linkbucks pays, there are PTC sites that also pay in tenths and hundredths of a penny. We see that as being no different from Linkbucks. At the end of the day one has to realize that advertising on the Internet is overwhelmingly abundant. However, we will encourage our users to advertise as unobtrusively as possible. LinkBucks is a garbage program that breaks frame, redirects the page and forces the viewer to sit through other ads before getting to the one they came to see. Some of those ads are borderline pornographic. Then people put this crap on ptc sites where they then get far more clicks than they pay for, thus cheating both the ptc site and the members. And at the end of it all, they pay precious little to their members. Not only not worth the effort, but just plain wrong.
